Overview

Loeb & Loeb’s China IP Agency is licensed by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and is staffed with consultants and paralegals who have extensive experience with the registration, maintenance, and enforcement of trademark, copyright, domain name, and other non-patent intellectual property rights in the People’s Republic of China (PRC).  The China IP Agency has an exclusive service arrangement with Loeb, and is owned by Beijing-based Loeb partners Scott J. Palmer and James M. Zimmerman. Scott Palmer is the Legal Representative and Chairman of Loeb & Loeb Intellectual Property (Beijing) Agency Ltd., and Sue Zhong, counsel at Loeb, serves as General Manager.

Working closely with partners and associates in Loeb’s intellectual property practice, the agency provides cost-efficient intellectual property services of the highest quality. Our direct access to and experience with CNIPA and other government authorities enhances our ability to directly conduct intellectual property services for clients in the PRC.  

Please note that Loeb & Loeb LLP is a foreign law firm registered with the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China. Under current Chinese regulations, Loeb & Loeb LLP is allowed to provide information concerning the effects of the Chinese legal environment, but Loeb & Loeb LLP is not authorized to practice Chinese law or to render formal legal opinions in respect of Chinese law. Loeb & Loeb LLP works in cooperation with its government licensed IP Agency as well as a number of Chinese law firms and can assist clients who require formal legal opinions in respect of any Chinese law matter or other assistance from a Chinese firm.
