This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains what personal information Loeb & Loeb LLP (“Loeb & Loeb”) collects, how we collect it and the purposes for which we use it. This Privacy Policy applies to your interactions with Loeb & Loeb’s website (www.loeb.com) (the “website”), Loeb-hosted webinars, newsletters and alerts, any Loeb & Loeb website or mobile app that displays this Privacy Policy, (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy also applies when you visit our offices, attend Loeb-hosted events.

Loeb & Loeb collects the personal information you provide to us directly, such as when you subscribe to our mailing list, register for an event or submit an inquiry through our Services, apply for a job with us, submit personal information to us in connection with a request for legal services, or otherwise communicate with us.

The personal information we collect includes:

  • Name and contact details (for example, your e-mail address, mailing address, phone number and social media handles).

  • Health information (such as your accessibility requirements, dietary restrictions, and, where necessary and appropriate to protect the health and safety of our personnel and others, information related to symptoms of, or risk of exposure to, certain illnesses).
  • Government-issued identifiers (such as social security number, driver’s license, or other state-issued identification number). 
  • Recruitment information (such as your references, information provided to us during an interview, interview notes, and background check information).
  • Photos, videos, and audio files that contain images or voice recordings;

In connection with onboarding and managing our client relationships (our “Legal Services”), we may also collect  commercial and financial information, such as invoices, payment information, bank account statements, tax returns, and asset and net worth information;

Loeb & Loeb uses the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain and improve the Services.
  • Personalize and improve your experience on the Services.
  • Respond to your inquiries.
  • Send you alerts or other newsletters that you have requested or that we think may be of interest to you.
  • Confirm your registration for seminars or other events.
  • Send you other marketing or promotional information related to Loeb & Loeb, including news about our attorneys, practice groups and events.
  • Send you service announcements or other administrative messages relating to our website or your relationship with Loeb & Loeb.
  • Evaluate and process your application for employment. 
  • Improve the website and our communications with you.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents and other malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity and protect the rights and property of Loeb & Loeb and others.
  • Debug to identify and repair errors in the Services.
  • Comply with our legal obligations, enforce our website terms and other policies, and notify you about any changes to the Services.
  • Carry out our contractual obligations to you.

We share your personal information:

  • With our vendors, consultants and other professional advisers which work with us to provide services on our behalf. 
    • For example, companies we hire to help us maintain the website, manage our mailing lists, and provide marketing assistance and data analysis may need your information in order to provide those services. Loeb & Loeb requires these vendors to comply with our data privacy and security requirements, and we prohibit those companies from using the personal information they receive from us for any other purpose.
  • With third parties as part of a merger, acquisition or other corporate transaction.
    • As Loeb & Loeb develops, we may acquire other law firms or their assets or be acquired by or merge with another law firm. Personal information is generally one of the business assets involved in such transactions. Thus, in the unlikely event that Loeb & Loeb or all of its assets are acquired through such a transaction, your information would be one of the transferred assets.
  • As required by law or to bring a legal action or enforce our agreements or policies.
  • We will share your personal information when we have a good faith belief that doing so is required by law or is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property, other visitors, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities.
  • With the applicable state bar association, we may share your name and bar number in connection with an application for CLE credit.
  • With other parties not included in this list we have your consent to do so.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Access your information. You have the right to confirm whether Loeb & Loeb is using or storing your information and to obtain a copy of the information that we have.

Correct/edit your information. If you discover that any of the information we have about you is incorrect, you have the right to request that we correct or update it.

Delete your information. If you withdraw your consent or otherwise object to our use of your information, you have the right to request that we delete your information.

Restrict or limit the use of your information. You have the right to restrict how we use your information. For example, you may request that we not use your information for marketing purposes or certain types of marketing messages.

We keep your personal information for as long as you have a relationship with us, or until you request that we delete your personal information.  Once you terminate your relationship with us or ask us to delete your personal information, we will only retain your personal information as needed to comply with our legal obligations, to defend our legal positions, or to otherwise prevent fraud or harm to other users of the Services.
 
The Services are not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, please do not submit any personal information to us.
 
We are a U.S. law firm, and the personal information we collect is processed in the United States.  Your personal information may be accessed by the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of the United States. The United States may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. If you are in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), Switzerland or the United Kingdom, we provide adequate protection for the transfer of personal information to countries outside of those jurisdictions by executing Standard Contractual Clauses, as authorized under EU or U.K. law. When information is transmitted to us, it is protected by both a “firewall” (a combination of computer hardware and software that helps keep unauthorized visitors from accessing information within our computer network) and industry standard TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us online.
