Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce that partner Debbie White was featured in Billboard’s 2016 Women in Music list of the 100 most powerful executives in the industry. Ms. White was one of a handful of music attorneys profiled in the December 5 issue as “the top female dealmakers and litigators working at firms outside the label system.” She and her fellow honorees were described by Billboard as “champions of songwriter rights, defenders of multi-platform hitmakers and protectors of the massive touring productions that crisscross the globe.”
Ms. White and all of the standout female stars and executives recognized by Billboard in 2016 will be honored at the annual Billboard Women in Music Awards event, to be held Dec. 9 in New York and airing nationally Dec. 12 on Lifetime. The event will celebrate music icon Madonna, who was named Billboard’s Woman of the Year, as well as other artist honorees, including Shania Twain, Halsey, Andra Day, Maren Morris and Meghan Trainor.
Debbie White focuses her practice in the entertainment and music industries, with emphasis on representing established and developing recording artists, songwriters, producers, managers, record companies, publishing companies, and digital media and technology companies in their ongoing business affairs. Ms. White's primary focus is in the field of music negotiation, including negotiation of multimillion-dollar recording contracts, as well as publishing, live touring on a worldwide basis, film soundtrack and Broadway cast albums, and merchandising and sponsorship agreements. A significant portion of her music practice centers on the development of copyright strategies and implementation of licensing efforts for digital companies, major advertisers and advertising agencies, sports and television networks, and entertainment companies. She also frequently utilizes her talent and recording relationships to negotiate music and entertainment-related strategic marketing partnerships, tour sponsorships, brand integration agreements, celebrity product endorsements and spokesperson deals on behalf of advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies from a variety of industries.
