Diana Wierbicki brings more than 15 years of experience in art law, managing a broad spectrum of domestic and international art law matters. Diana has overseen billions of dollars in art transactions, helping clients navigate the complex legal landscape affecting these deals.
Diana works with domestic and international high net worth individuals and families often in collaboration with their family offices, art advisors, estate planning lawyers and accountants to ensure that the unique aspects of art as an asset and the nuances of the art market do not get overlooked. She approaches assisting her clients with a team player spirit and with sensitivity and thoughtfulness to impact family relationships. She has broad experience across fine art and collectible property categories—ranging from antiquities and old masters to contemporary art collections and collectibles such as musical instruments, dinosaurs, rare books and coins.
Diana also provides counsel to art businesses on all facets of their transactions, operations and international growth. Moreover, she offers guidance to artists regarding their legacy planning and gallery representation. She is at the forefront of representing clients in pioneering developments reshaping the art market, including the intersection of technology and art, and the evolving parallels between fashion and art.
Diana holistically addresses her clients’ art and collectible needs by servicing all transactions and tax issues such as private and auction sale contracts, collection management, sales tax, income and wealth transfer taxes, next-generation art transfer planning, trust and estate planning related to their art assets, money laundering, cultural property concerns, tax audits, charitable planning and estate administration art matters.
