Loeb & Loeb represented Play Hooky Productions, a film production company founded by Sam Rockwell and Mark Berger, in its acquisition of rights to develop a film adaptation of Dave Wedge’s upcoming book, Blood & Hate: The Untold Story of Marvelous Marvin Hagler’s Battle for Glory.
The novel, which will be published by Hamilcar Publications in 2025, follows the underdog story of middleweight boxing champion Marvin Hagler.
Loeb negotiated the deal between Play Hooky and Dave Wedge, representing Play Hooky throughout the competitive bidding process.
The Loeb team included Entertainment attorney David Manella and Scott Edel, chair of the Entertainment department.
