Loeb Partner Jason Lilien Serves as “Principal For A Day” at New York City High School

Jason Lilien, co-chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Nonprofits & Tax-Exempt Organizations practice, once again participated in the “Principal For A Day” program coordinated by PENCIL, a New York City-based nonprofit connecting public school students to the business community. This year, Jason served as principal at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety in Queens, New York, on May 10 and shared the duty with Jaylon Blair, a 10th grade high school student.

Jason’s day included shadowing the school’s principal, Principal Van Deren, and speaking to and connecting with students and teachers. Among his activities, Jason discussed his career journey with students and engaged in question and answer sessions about the legal profession.

“I am honored to have served as ‘Principal For A Day’ at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety,” Jason said. “It was great spending the day with Principal Van Deren and her amazing students. I am so impressed by all the wonderful work being done at the school to help students reach their full potential and prepare them for future success.”

In 1995, PENCIL was founded with the goal of raising awareness about public education by inviting civic and business leaders into New York City public schools.
