One of the most powerful ways we express our “we’re all connected” philosophy is through meaningful service in the communities where we live and work. Below are highlights of some of our recent pro bono initiatives and activities.
Law Firm Antiracism Alliance
This past summer, Loeb joined the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA), a coalition of over 250 law firms working to make a long-term and impactful change on eradicating systemic racism in the legal system. In fall 2020, LFAA launched 16 working groups, each with a focus on how structural racism informs various areas of law. Eighteen Loeb volunteers have joined working groups focused on banking/consumer issues, criminal justice reform, education, environmental justice, homelessness, philanthropy, policing, public benefits, reproductive justice and voting rights.
Pro Bono Recognition Reception
On February 25, 2021, Loeb held a virtual Pro Bono Recognition Reception honoring six lawyers who contributed significantly to the firm’s pro bono efforts in 2020. In prior years, the receptions were held in each individual Loeb office, recognizing each city’s specific involvement and achievements. This year, with the virtual format, we were able to have a firmwide event, learning about pro bono efforts from across the country. Associates Marwa Abdelaziz, David Forrest, Lily Walden Givens, Robyn Mohr and Priy Sinha were honored at the reception. Each honoree was able to choose a nonprofit or legal service organization for the firm to make a donation to on their behalf.
We are always looking to partner with our alumni on pro bono matters. If interested, please contact Meredith Madnick, Diversity & Pro Bono manager.
