NEW YORK – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Debbie White has joined the firm as a partner in the New York office. She will be a member of the Entertainment Department and Music Practice Group, representing established and developing recording artists, songwriters, managers, record companies, new media companies, actors, fashion designers, celebrities, models and high-level executives in the entertainment industry in their ongoing business affairs.
While Ms. White’s primary emphasis is in the field of music negotiation, including drafting recording contracts as well as publishing, live touring, soundtrack albums, and merchandising and sponsorship agreements, her experience extends into all areas of traditional entertainment and new media industries. She has also been very successful at expanding her clients’ interests through ventures such as book publishing, fragrance and cosmetic licensing agreements, non-scripted television deals and infomercials.
Ms. White’s experience representing talent, combined with her understanding of licensing and publishing rights, uniquely positions her to address the complex issues that can arise when working with new media companies, such as online fan clubs and subscription services.
John Frankenheimer, the firm’s Los Angeles-based Co-Chair, said, “Debbie’s practice is a good fit for our Entertainment Department as well as our growing team of lawyers who serve emerging media and technology clients.”
“Debbie’s relationships and experience working with recording industry clients in New York will enhance our global legal and business development services for our music industry clients,” said New York Entertainment Department Chair Roger Arar.
Ms. White was previously a partner at Grubman, Indursky and Shire and an associate prior to that at Simpson Thacher and Bartlett. She graduated magna cum laude from New York University School of Law where she belonged to the Order of the Coif.
