A $1 billion deal between Universal Pictures and firm client Relativity Media is the subject of this article. The largest movie slate financing deal completed to date will have Relativity Capital, a partnership between Relativity Media and New York-based hedge fund Elliott Associates, co-financing roughly 75 percent of Universal's releases through 2011. Handling the transaction on behalf of Relativity Media was Loeb & Loeb attorney Curt Bajak.
