Much oversight and regulation of exempt organizations occurs at the state level, predominantly at state attorney general offices. State regulators investigate and prosecute violations of state law regarding charitable fundraising and fiduciary duty, and also regulate major life cycle events of charities. On this panel, regulators from Massachusetts, New York, and Washington DC will discuss recent cases, regulatory priorities and initiatives.
