The Importance of Our Pro Bono Efforts

Loeb & Loeb Partners Bethany Simmons and Ann Chen discuss the firm’s pro bono efforts, including the wide range of pro bono opportunities Loeb offers to its lawyers. “We have the infrastructure in place to really offer the lawyers a variety of projects to choose from,” Ann notes.

Bethany says that she enjoys helping Loeb’s pro bono clients seek justice and resolve their legal problems. “These are some of the most complex issues that they’ll face in their lives, and the stakes are high,” Bethany notes. “If they don’t have counsel and they have to proceed on their own, the chances of getting a fair and good result are significantly less than if they’ve got someone in their corner to really help advocate for them.”

Ann mentions that working on Loeb’s pro bono matters helped her connect and build relationships with other lawyers and professionals across the firm. “I got to meet people –from lawyers to paralegals and other support staff – and discover their talents while working on the same project.”
