Loeb & Loeb partners Marc S. Cohen and Steven S. Rosenthal have been recognized by The National Law Journal as two of the nation’s “Litigation Trailblazers” for 2016. Cohen and Rosenthal were profiled in a special supplement of the publication’s December 5 issue among a select group of 55 legal professionals who are “pushing litigation forward” using “innovative legal strategies or outside the box thinking that is changing how their colleagues practice law.”
As quoted in their profile in The National Law Journal, Cohen said he and Rosenthal “discovered that while we came from disparate backgrounds, we had a real abiding interest in politics – local, regional and national.”
Cohen regularly represents state and municipal agencies on a wide range of budgetary and financial issues, including advising government clients on municipal bankruptcy matters. Rosenthal has extensive trial court, appellate and arbitration experience on matters involving commercial law, constitutional law and all aspects of administrative practice.
The profile further details their representation of Los Angeles and LAX in the reorganization of several major airlines, in which they “used both bankruptcy and litigation skills to help LAX modernize the airport and rationalize its relationship. They went on to represent the California State Controller’s office in collecting billions in unpaid life insurance and annuity proceeds from major insurance companies … [and] also represented the state of Delaware in a gift card and certificate audit.”
