Represented Willis Group, as tenant, in its lease of approximately 140,000 square feet at 233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, which is now known as Willis Tower. As part of the negotiations, Willis was granted the right to re-name building, formerly known as the Sears Tower, which was then the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.
The Sears Tower in Chicago was renamed the Willis Tower, thanks to a Loeb & Loeb tenant lease representation of particular note. We represented Willis of Illinois, Inc., a subsidiary of Willis Group Holdings, in its lease of more than 140,000 square feet on multiple floors of the iconic 110-story skyscraper, located at 233 S. Wacker Drive in Chicago. As part of the negotiations, Willis was granted naming rights to the landmark structure, now known as Willis Tower. The London-based insurance brokerage firm consolidated its regional offices and moved nearly 500 associates into its new space.
