Obtained Dismissal of Copyright Infringement Claims Against Production Company

Represented Fox Searchlight, Golden Globe-winning director Guillermo del Toro and other defendants in a copyright infringement case in the United States District Court for the Central District of California in which the plaintiff claims that the film “The Shape of Water” infringes on a play written in 1969 by Paul Zindel. The district court granted the defendants’ motion to dismiss, finding that the works at issue were not substantially similar as a matter of law.
