Overview
Michael Fung focuses his practice on commercial and corporate finance transactions in Hong Kong. Offering clients honest, friendly and commercially minded counsel, he has substantial experience representing issuers and sponsors/underwriters in initial public offerings and secondary fundraising transactions in Hong Kong, including share placements, rights issues and open offers.
During the IPO process, many clients look to me as both legal counsel and psychologist. I help them manage the tremendous stress by coordinating the various working parties, weighing comments from regulatory bodies and measuring success.
In addition to his transactional securities practice, Michael regularly advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and regulatory compliance, including matters concerning Hong Kong Listing Rules and the Code on Takeovers and Mergers. He has worked with companies across a variety of industries, including life sciences, electronics, energy, manufacturing, entertainment and communications.
