Loeb & Loeb Expands Real Estate Investments & Transactions Practice In Los Angeles

Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce the arrival of Phil Lerch to the firm’s Los Angeles office where he will be a partner in the Real Estate Investments & Transactions department.

With nearly two decades of experience as a commercial real estate dealmaker, Lerch has a diverse practice focusing on both financing and “dirt” real estate transactions. He represents lenders and borrowers on a wide range of financing structures, as well as purchasers and sellers of commercial real property. He is also an advisor to developers, investors and other real property operators on transactions in New York, California and across the nation.

“I’ve known Phil for many years, and he is the ideal team member to help us expand our presence on the west coast,” said Chris Barbaruolo, chair of Loeb’s Real Estate Investments & Transactions department. “He will be a strong asset for counseling our clients on complex commercial real estate transactions and strategically advising our clients on distressed opportunities.”

Lerch works with institutional and private lenders in the origination and syndication of real estate debt, loan modification, workouts and REO dispositions of commercial properties throughout the U.S.

“Loeb’s established reputation of advising on complex real estate matters provides an ideal platform to broaden my practice,” said Lerch. “I am eager to work with Chris and the talented Real Estate Investments and Transactions lawyers.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Phil to our Los Angeles office,” said Alyse Pelavin, managing partner of Loeb’s Los Angeles office. “His arrival will help serve our existing and future real estate clients in the region and beyond.”

Lerch earned his J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and his A.B in Politics from Princeton University. He is admitted to practice in California and New York. Prior to joining the firm, Lerch was a partner at Elkins Kalt in Los Angeles and, before that, he was an associate in the Los Angeles and New York City offices of an international law firm.
