Three Loeb Partners Recognized in The Hollywood Reporter’s 2022 Power Lawyers and Top Music Dealmakers Lists

Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce that three partners have been honored by The Hollywood Reporter (THR): Debbie White, vice chair of Loeb’s Music Industry group, is named to the publication’s 2022 Top Music Dealmakers list; and Arash Khalili, co-chair of the Capital Markets & Corporate department and co-chair of the Sports practice, and Ivy Kagan Bierman, chair of the firm’s Entertainment Labor practice, are featured in the 2022 Power Lawyers list.

Specifically, Debbie is highlighted for recently representing South Korean boy band BTS in a deal that put a “BTS Meal” on the menu of McDonald’s locations in 50 countries. She is also noted for obtaining new publishing and label partnerships for Diane Warren and Duran Duran, as well as handling TV production and music deals for Reese Witherspoon’s media business, Hello Sunshine.

In addition, Arash is lauded by THR for handling complex M&A, private equity and joint ventures, particularly within the tech and digital sectors. He is noted for advising Netflix in its acquisition of the indie video game developer Night School Studio, guiding top streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins in his multi-year deal with Twitch and representing Dwyane Wade on his purchase of a stake in the NBA’s Utah Jazz.

Furthermore, Ivy is highlighted as a leading advisor for film, TV and digital companies – including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Discovery, Lionsgate and Skydance – on guild and labor issues. THR noted that during the pandemic, she pushed employers to not only abide by collective bargaining agreements but to also consider doing more to help workers whose projects were shut down due to COVID-19.
