Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce the arrival of veteran trial lawyer John M. Gatti to the firm’s Litigation department in Los Angeles. Gatti has more than three decades of trial experience in state, federal and bankruptcy courts as well as in representing individuals and corporations in complex business and commercial lawsuits. His practice spans a variety of industries, with specific emphasis in the entertainment, media and sports sectors.
“John is widely known and respected in the entertainment community,” said Daniel Murphy, co-chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Litigation department. “He brings with him deep experience and an impressive track record, which will allow us to further expand the services we can provide to entertainment, media and sports clients as they address their most high-stakes disputes.”
Gatti represents studios, television networks, film financers, talent, gaming and sports entities, and independent entertainment production companies in a wide range of entertainment and intellectual property protection disputes, including breach of contract, unfair competition, copyright and trademark infringement, and media torts. In addition to his entertainment clients, Gatti also represents and advises leading business clients in complex transactions as well as in litigation and pre-litigation counseling involving cutting-edge business and legal issues outside the media and entertainment industry.
“We are so excited to welcome John to the Los Angeles office,” said Alyse Pelavin, managing partner of Loeb & Loeb’s LA office. “As an industry veteran, his joining further cements Loeb’s reputation as the go-to firm for the entertainment industry.”
Gatti has been consistently named one of the Top 100 Influential Attorneys in Entertainment by The Hollywood Reporter since 2007 and is continually recognized as one of the top-ranked lawyers in Media & Entertainment: Litigation by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America.
“I have always been impressed by the Loeb team and its top-ranked entertainment, corporate and litigation practices. They have a stellar reputation on both the deal side and the contentious side of media and entertainment matters. I am thrilled to join such a well-known and established group,” said Gatti.
Gatti joins Loeb & Loeb from Manatt, Phelps & Philipps, LLP, where he was a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Entertainment and Media Litigation practice group. Gatti earned a B.S. and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.
