NEW YORK – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that the firm is applying to open a representative office in Beijing to service a rapidly growing number of Asian clients, particularly in corporate transactions.
Loeb & Loeb’s Beijing office will continue the firm’s work for U.S. clients who are doing business in China and Chinese clients with investments in the U.S. or who wish to list their companies on American stock exchanges. Mitch Nussbaum, Partner and Chair of Loeb’s Securities Practice Group has developed a global securities practice, and to date has helped more than 50 Chinese companies go public in the U.S. Nussbaum said, “The new office will support our growing securities practice and allow us to better serve our clients by more effectively bridging culture, language and time zone difference while positioning the firm inside China to capitalize on the growth of China’s economic infrastructure and global investments.”
Loeb & Loeb’s Co-Chair John Frankenheimer noted, “As China moves from a manufacturing to a technology driven economy, our firm will be there to work with emerging businesses as well as established companies investing in China. Our Advanced Media and Technology and Entertainment and Media practice teams, working together, are experienced in providing a wide array of services to a myriad of global content production, distribution and technology companies.”
“The Beijing office will build on our firm’s strengths - a combination of private equity and cross border transactions, intellectual property matters and corporate and securities legal services,” added Co-Chair Michael Beck.
