Overview
Roy Choi maintains a corporate practice that strategically leverages his broad experience in corporate advisory work and capital markets transactions. Roy has participated in numerous listing projects in Hong Kong, Greater China, Asia-Pacific, the United Kingdom and the United States. He advises listed companies, private equity fund and corporate clients on matters relating to their initial public offering and pre-IPO investment, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture and other regulated transactions of listed companies.
Roy has over twenty years of experience in advising clients on initial public offering, mergers and acquisitions transactions and compliance related matters. With a hands-on approach and keen knowledge of his clients’ industries, Roy advises corporations in various sectors, including technology, logistics, media and communications, entertainment, gaming products, energy, construction, building services engineering and design, property development and management, food and beverage, consumer goods, natural resources, environmental protection and waste management, hygiene and health service, pharmaceutical and medical services, financial services, education, aviation, automotive industry, equipment rental, precision instrument, semiconductor industry and industrial products. He advises clients on investigations and disciplinary matters by Securities and Futures Commission and Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Moreover, he advises on various shareholders’ dispute cases. Roy also represents high net worth individuals and family offices in the Asia-Pacific region and other professionals in trust settlement and investment projects.
Roy graduated from Faculty of Law, The University of Hong Kong with Bachelor of Laws and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws. He also obtained a Master Degree in Laws from the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, University of London, Queen Mary College. Roy is qualified to practice law in Hong Kong and England and Wales.
For more than a decade, Roy has been actively involved in pro bono work dedicated to combating poverty and providing education in Asia. He has also served as the honorary legal advisors to various charitable organizations.
