Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce the arrival of Erik Mengwall to the firm’s New York office where he will be a partner in the Capital Markets and Corporate practice group. Mengwall joins the firm with significant experience in domestic and cross-border transactions, financings and a wide range of corporate matters, both as in-house and external counsel.
With more than 20 years of wide-ranging experience in corporate and capital markets, Mengwall advises clients in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings (including SPAC initial public offerings), business combinations, corporate governance, contract negotiations, private equity and venture capital investments, and general day-to-day corporate matters. He has also advised on large-scale outsourcing projects, assessment and implementation of corporate crisis management plans, and resolution of legal disputes.
“We are excited to welcome Erik who has a unique combination of a deep industry sector focus along with a broad general corporate and M&A background,” said Mitchell Nussbaum, co-chair of the firm’s Capital Markets and Corporate Department. “His expertise will be an ideal complement to our growing team’s overall strength and capabilities.”
“I’m excited to join a team with a strong reputation in the corporate, commercial and M&A space, that is known for handling some of the most sophisticated transactions across diverse industry groups,” said Mengwall. “I am looking forward to collaborating with this cutting-edge team of lawyers.”
Mengwall marks Loeb’s continued growth streak, following the arrival of Thomas L’Helias and Michael Ginzburg to the firm’s Capital Markets and Corporate Group in New York in June, reflecting strategic strengthening of the firm’s corporate capabilities.
“We’re pleased to welcome Erik as a corporate partner in New York,” said Laurie Ruckel, New York office managing partner. “With this addition, we continue to expand our ability to advise a range of clients on complex corporate transactions and bolster our corporate team’s reputation.”
Mengwall earned his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School and his B.A. from Yale University. He previously led the legal department and served as secretary for a NASDAQ-listed global provider of enterprise information management, transaction processing solutions and business operations outsourcing services.
