Loeb & Loeb LLP is pleased to announce that James N. Czaban has joined the firm’s Washington, DC office as a partner in the FDA Regulatory & Compliance Department. His practice focuses on advising clients on complex regulatory strategies and compliance matters in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, medical device, and Life Sciences industries.

Jim provides strategic, business-oriented regulatory guidance to companies at all stages of a product’s lifecycle, and represents clients in proceedings with federal and state government agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Trade Commission, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Justice. He also represents private equity, bank, and venture capital clients, and other entities involved with life sciences, counseling these clients with respect to regulatory due diligence and deal strategies in connection with financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, licensing and joint venture agreements.

Jim earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been recognized as a leading FDA practitioner by numerous independent ratings guides, including Chambers USA, Who’s Who Legal Life Sciences, Best Lawyers in America, LMG Life Sciences, Super Lawyers, and Lawdragon’s 3,000 Leading Lawyers. He has twice won the Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing. He was previously with DLA Piper as partner and chair of their FDA group and is the second lateral partner to join Loeb’s growing DC office in the past month.
