John Monterubio advises on all types of transactions and legal matters relating to advertising, entertainment, media, technology and artificial intelligence. Clients consistently turn to him for counsel on negotiating complex transactions and navigating novel legal issues relating to new technologies. John has negotiated agreements ranging from master services agreements, software, data and IP licenses, outsourcing and joint ventures. 

John’s practice is on the forefront of artificial intelligence, and he has worked on deals involving the development of bespoke generative AI tools, licensing data for AI model training and advertising services that utilize generative AI. John has written and speaks extensively on AI and is recognized in Best Lawyers: One to Watch.

In addition, John regularly counsels clients on issues relating to SAG-AFTRA, endorsements, influencers, data privacy and advertising claims substantiation. 

Through John’s wide and well-rounded practice, he has worked with companies across a variety of industries, ranging from advertising, media, entertainment, public relations, publishing, research and data, technology, social media, health care, insurance, finance, real estate and retail and consumer packaged goods.
