Jill M. Jones maintains a diverse transactional real estate practice, with a particular focus on development and land use matters.
Jill represents developers in land use entitlement matters on large-scale development and redevelopment projects, and has extensive experience in securing agency approvals. Jill also handles public-private partnerships, representing both government agencies and private developers in the entitlement phase as well as drafting transactional documents such as leases, reciprocal easement agreements and covenants and restrictions.
Beyond land use, Jill maintains a general commercial real estate practice, regularly representing both landlords and tenants in industrial and commercial leases throughout the country. Jill has a notable presence in the hospitality sector, providing comprehensive legal support throughout the entitlement process for a number of Los Angeles boutique hotels. Her relationships at various government agencies is instrumental to getting development projects over the finish line.
Jill also regularly represents high-net-worth individuals and family offices in the sale or leasing of high-end residential properties.
Jill’s unique expertise in working with government agencies stems from the fact that she served as a senior deputy attorney at the Los Angeles County Counsel’s office. She represented the County in several high profile entitlement and land use development projects, including Tejon Ranch’s Centennial Master Planned community, the Chiquita Canyon Landfill, and the Wilmington & 118th senior affordable housing and library mixed-use project. She also worked on transactional projects and public contracting on behalf of the County. She has experience in drafting zoning codes and legislative documents.
Jill also has an extensive volunteer record. She is the Chair of the Recreation Alliance, and a Board Member of Foodocracy.
