Loeb & Loeb is proud to share that John Frankenheimer, chair of the firm’s Music industry group; Debbie White, vice chair of the Music industry group; Derek Crownover, vice chair of the Music industry group and Nashville co-office administrative partner; Tiffany Dunn, Nashville co-office administrative partner; and Entertainment partners Kenneth Kraus and Monika Tashman were named in Billboard's 2025 “Top Music Lawyers” list. The annual list highlights the foremost legal professionals in the music industry “who are making deals, guiding clients and watching out for AI [artificial intelligence].”
In an accompanying profile, the six honorees are recognized for strategically collaborating with prominent artists, publishers and music entities, including Blondie, Luke Combs, Christina Aguilera and Diana Ross, Warner Music Group, the Academy of Country Music, Sony Music Publishing and American Idol.
In an interview with Billboard about the firm’s Music industry group, John noted that in the past year alone, the team facilitated more than $700 million in transactions, representing both active buyers and sellers in a broad range of music-related intellectual property matters—including catalog sales and acquisitions—across all platforms and genres.
When asked for advice on using AI in music, John offered a word of caution.
“Be very careful in every agreement that you enter into regarding the rights you are conveying and how they are monetized to ensure that you fully comprehend what is and is not permissible,” he said. “AI is evolving at unprecedented speed, and there will be continuing tension between those that grant rights and those that obtain them.”
